Route 60 Mobility Study: Malden and Medford, Massachusetts

This study examined ways to improve mobility and safety along the Route 60 corridor from the Route 60/I-93 rotary interchange in Medford to Centre and Ferry Streets in Malden. City officials and state and regional transportation agencies provided input to this effort. The study’s recommendations include improvements in intersection geometry, signals (equipment upgrades, retiming, and coordination), pavement marking, and signage. The improvements will benefit the movement and safety of vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The recommendations for one intersection include signal prioritization to benefit bus movement.
