Route 3A from the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) commuter rail station in Cohasset to Henry Turner Bailey Road in Scituate was selected for analysis as part of a larger study funded by the Boston Region MPO: Addressing Safety, Mobility, and Access on Subregional Priority Roadways. The study identified and analyzed a number of safety, mobility, and access problems of various transportation modes, including walking and bicycling, and proposed short-, medium-, and long-term improvements for the entire corridor and at specific locations. Together, the proposed improvements provide a vision for the corridor to operate safely, efficiently, and sufficiently for all users of different transportation modes.
