I-290 Northborough Commuter Rail Extension Feasiblity Study
Metrowest municipal officials and business leaders have expressed strong interest in expanding commuter rail service to the Marlborough and Northborough areas. Such service could operate over a freight spur from Framingham Station on the Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail Line through Marlborough and Northborough to Interstate 290. This report
examines the feasibility of implementing commuter rail service on this freight spur, and was performed for the MBTA by the Central Transportation Planning Staff (CTPS).
