Suburban Mobility and TDM – Overview
OVERVIEW • SUBURBAN MOBILITY • TDM Two of the ways in which the MPO improves mobility throughout the region are its Suburban Mobility and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs. These programs fund eligible projects created by municipalities, regional transit authorities, transportation management associations, or the area´s regional planning agency. The Suburban Mobility Program addresses mobility needs in suburban areas that currently are not served or are underserved by transit; it is making $650,000 available in federal fiscal year 2008. The TDM Program supports mobility projects that contribute to air quality improvements; it is providing $250,000. Both the Suburban Mobility and TDM programs are funded with federal Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) funds and matching state/local funding. |
