Bicycle / Pedestrian Resources – Walkable Communities
OVERVIEWWALKABLE COMMUNITIESREPORTSDATABASE
The MPO conducts free Walkable Community Workshops to encourage safe, accessible, and aesthetic walking environments in the region. They are held at the request of municipalities and interest groups. A workshop has two parts. The first is a presentation on good pedestrian design using local, regional, and national examples. Participants then walk together through a local area, identifying shortcomings and discussing possible improvements and strategies for achieving them.

Persons interested in hosting a workshop are encouraged to contact the MPO. There is also a national website pertaining to Walkable Community Workshops.
