Bicycle / Pedestrian Resources – Walkable Communities
OVERVIEW • WALKABLE COMMUNITIES • REPORTS • DATABASE The MPO conducts free Walkable Community Workshops to encourage safe, accessible, and aesthetic walking environments in the region. They are held at the request of municipalities and interest groups. A workshop has two parts. The first is a presentation on good pedestrian design using local, regional, and national examples. Participants then walk together through a local area, identifying shortcomings and discussing possible improvements and strategies for achieving them. Persons interested in hosting a workshop are encouraged to contact the MPO. There is also a national website pertaining to Walkable Community Workshops. Request a Walkable Community Workshop |
