Maps
The following maps show the locations of the identified environmental justice areas in the region and in the urban core based on 2000 census data.
Analysis Results
The analysis results presented in the following links are based on 2000 census data and were used in the development of JOURNEY TO 2030, the MPO´s current long-range transportation plan. Those results are presented in Chapter 14 of this document.

The MPO used the following criteria to locate environmental justice population zones for the mobility, congestion, and environmental analyses:
  • Low income: A median household income at or below 80 percent of the
2000 MPO-region median household income (80 percent of the region´s
median household income of $55,800 is $44,640)
  • Minority: A population that is more than 21.4 percent minority
    (nonwhite or Hispanic)
The locations of the environmental justice population zones are shown on a map of the entire MPO region and a map of the urban core.
